Prepare a vehicle dossier for Algeria, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Chile or Saudi Arabia, then use the right official window to confirm the import, certification and registration steps.
Start with the exact vehicle and importer
The procedure depends on the factory model, vehicle category, new or used status, manufacturing year, body and intended use. A series name or a Euro label cannot establish import eligibility. This checklist helps you prepare an order for review; it does not approve any reference model for a destination.
- Build one dossier: draft invoice, manufacturer specification, engine and body details, dimensions, gross weights, and VIN or chassis number when assigned.
- Identify the importer of record and customs agent. Ask them to confirm the classification, import route and required technical evidence for that vehicle before shipment.
- Keep a document register with issuer, certificate number, vehicle identity, applicant, validity and revision. Resolve mismatches before releasing the order for shipment.
Algeria: agree the import route, then the registration file
The Ministry of Interior publishes separate registration lists for new and used vehicles imported for the owner's account. A registration checklist does not itself authorize importation; the Algerian importer must first confirm the applicable route.
- State whether the purchase is for resale or the buyer's own use. For new-vehicle resale, verify the relevant dealer approval with the Ministry of Industry and the importer instead of relying on a supplier's assertion.
- For the applicable new-vehicle file, prepare the invoice, vehicle identity document, manufacturer or dealer conformity certificate, customs document and local services des mines conformity-control report.
- For a used-vehicle proposal, ask which foreign registration and technical-inspection records are required under the applicable file. Match the chassis identity throughout, and have the importer confirm admissibility before purchase.
Nigeria: confirm SON's route and align customs records
The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) lists both SONCAP and vehicle conformity work. Confirm the current treatment of the exact vehicle with SON; a certificate used for another product is not proof that a truck is cleared.
- Give SON the proposed HS classification, vehicle category, new or used status and importer details, including the TIN. Obtain the applicable certification route before booking inspection or shipment.
- Where SONCAP applies, distinguish the Product Certificate used for Form M from the SONCAP Certificate used for PAAR and clearance. Check that each certificate identifies the correct exporter or importer and goods.
- Ask the Nigeria Customs Service agent handling the entry port to reconcile Form M, PAAR and the bill of lading or manifest in the current customs process. Keep the references with the order file.
Kazakhstan: connect conformity, customs and the vehicle passport
Gov.kz guidance links conformity and customs records to the electronic vehicle passport. Documents issued under another EAEU country's special arrangements may carry territorial restrictions; ownership in that country alone does not settle registration in Kazakhstan.
- Ask the competent conformity-assessment body which TR CU 018/2011 evidence applies to the exact category and supply route. Request the document record, model coverage and any restrictions.
- If the SBKTS vehicle safety-certificate route applies, check that its applicant and the customs declarant meet the identity requirement described by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Industry and Construction.
- Assemble ownership and vehicle identity records, conformity evidence and customs-release information. Confirm the electronic passport's validity and the registration file with the Kazakh registration authority before committing to the vehicle.
Chile: use the truck-specific 3CV certification procedure
The Ministry of Transport's 3CV service distinguishes trucks and tractor-trucks from other heavy vehicles. Its truck emissions-certification procedure refers to Resolution 2113/2004; a brochure's emission label does not replace that file.
- Ask the Chilean importer and Aduanas to confirm the new or used classification and admissible import regime. If an exception is proposed for a used vehicle, obtain the applicable basis before purchasing.
- Prepare the exact model and engine technical dossier for 3CV. Request the current forms, representative-vehicle requirements and applicable emissions evidence for the truck or tractor-truck category.
- Ask for the model certification code and the vehicle certificate identifying VIN, engine number and manufacturing year. Reconcile these with the supplied vehicle and the documents needed for first registration.
Saudi Arabia: separate commercial import and technical inspection
ZATCA handles customs controls and SASO handles the relevant technical procedures. The official personal-use vehicle-import service is not automatically the route for a commercial truck order.
- Give the Saudi importer and customs agent the legal importer details, vehicle category and gross weight, new or used status, year and VIN. Confirm the commercial route and applicable ZATCA controls before shipment.
- Confirm the applicable conformity route with SASO or its accepted body. If ZATCA refers the vehicle for SASO inspection, prepare the entry port, customs declaration number and Hijri declaration year requested by that service.
- Prepare matching invoice, ownership or export papers and transport documents, then obtain the final commercial-import checklist from the agent. Confirm that technical evidence covers the complete truck and body, rather than an unrelated component.
